We all have been in situation visiting a friend or relative, and feel they’ve done a great job preparing the food we all enjoyed.
Clean up comes, and we feel the least we can do is offer our help cleaning up the table.
Do you often offer to help, or even, have you been asked to help?
Always, it depends on the relationship between the hostess and myself.
If not a close relationship I respect them having space and room for meal prep everyone has their own way of doing things I’d be in the way and might cause stress.
However I always help with clean up I put items washed and dried on counter I do this because don’t want to create more work for hostess who will end up moving things plus I’m not comfortable
going in to closed drawers and cabinets!
Other suggest to simply ask. If they say, “It’s okay”.
Be helpful by keeping an eye on your hostess/host.
They may ask you for setting out the meal. Unless it is family or good friends, you can help clear the table.
It is improper for a host/hostess to ask their guests to clean anything!
