MOO-MUFFS FOR THE ‘NEW-BORN’ CALVES
Moo-muffs……well, that’s a new thing you must have heard in recent times. So, what are these moo-muffs?
Many people around the world are obsessed with having pets such as dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, and fishes of different species. Among these people, there are farmers who love their cows just as much as any other pet owner.
The problem most of the farmers are faced is mainly by the newborn calves that are sensitive and prone to disease. To protect them, they’ve created moo-muff; in other words, a woolen made ear covering designed to prevent frostbite in winters for the calves.
It looks like his grandma knit it for him and his mom is making him wear it.

The Invention of the Moo-Muffs
Holly Poad, the owner of the Triple P Load, in the Lone Farm in Wisconsin, lost a family barn in the fire. Poad took the help of her aunt by knitting moo-muffs to protect the new-born calves in winter. Initially, the moo-muffs were made out of fleece that turned into an Ice after a while, but later, they came up with the idea of putting an outer covering of water-repellent material and fleece material beneath them to make it more effective.
With winter fast approaching, and we needed to find a way to keep the newborn calves warm and free of frostbite and hypothermia, Holly told KWQC.
What does Moo-Muffs look like?
Moo-muffs are basically an ear-covering worn by people in winter to keep their ears warm. For the cows, moo-muffs are brightly colored, long slender in the heart-shaped according to their ear and a Velcro strap wound around their mouth.
The reason behind the protection of Moo-Muffs
The adult cows can withstand the winter since they can generate the heat to keep themselves warm. On the contrary, the calves being sensitive are prone to hypothermia or the condition in which the body temperature falls below the normal temperature.
Photo of calves was posted with the caption “earmuffs for calves,” or the “grandmother knitted ear-muffs “and the people are in-love with large numbers of likes and comments such as “cute, adorable” and so on.
Seriously, how cute are they! 😍
