Due to its countless benefits, fermented beets can fight many health diseases, including cancer. The only difference between fermented beets and regular or raw beets is in the sugar levels. While fresh beets are full of natural sugar, fermenting the beets strips off the sugar leaving all the beneficial nutrients instead.

Regular or fresh beets are great for keeping the perfect immune system health. Raw beets are full of vitamin C, and B, magnesium, potassium and fibre, all nutrients are known to beneficial affects the immune system.

Juiced or fresh, yummy beets also affect the blood pressure levels. Nutrients found in beets are transformed into nitric oxide. As such, nitric oxide supports the blood vessels to do their job coherently, and increase the circulation preventing hypertension.

Beets Shields Against Cancer

According to various studies, beetroot juice has shown positive outcomes and decreased the development of a tumor. Such anti-cancerogenic qualities are credited to the substance – phytonutrients responsible for its color.

How to Make Your Own Fermented Beet

Ingredients:

Two raw, organic beetroots
Sparkling or boiled water
Three tablespoons pickle or sauerkraut juice
-½ tsp. Himalayan salt

Preparation:

The best way to avoid bacteria from affecting the beets during fermentation is to use organic beets and leave the skin on. Next, boil the water and let it completely cool down.

Put the beets in a jar and fill 1/3 of it with water. After that, add the sauerkraut and pickle juice, and season it. Leave some space in the jar so you can mix it easily before it is left to ferment.

Leave the jar in room temperature for one week.

To check if your fermented beets are ready, look for bubbles inside the jar.
