Plantar fasciitis is an uncomfortable foot condition that causes discomfort and pain across the heel. This condition is common in people who are overweight, regular runners and people who spend time on their feet for an extended period without proper foot support.
The most severe pain is usually as soon we you wake up in the morning and tends to decrease as the day goes on gradually.
Sadly, there are no known cures for plantar fasciitis; however, this condition is not life-threatening, nor does it tend to alter the afflicted person’s day-to-day life drastically.
However, it can be excruciating, and that’s where the following pain relief method comes in.
According to UpToDate, this foot taping method can assist in relieving some of the pain and discomfort linked to plantar fasciitis. All you need is sports tape, which can be found in most drug stores.
How to do it:
Step 1: Cut a strip of the tape ( around 15cm ) and wrap it around the foot, at the level of the ball of the foot.
Step 2: Starting just below the pinky toe, wrap the second strip of tape around the heel, around the sides of the heel, and back up to the first strip of tape.
Step 3: Wrap the third strip of tape around the heel, beginning just below the pinky toe, as you did in Step 2. However, this time, rotate the heel and wrap the tape in a criss-cross, so that it finishes just below your big toe.
Step 4: Repeat Step 3. The tape does not necessarily need to align correctly.
Once finished, you can leave the tape for up to a week!
