Cancer rates are on the rise, and many factors are to blame, from the environment to our emotions. However, many would agree, food is everything, what we eat is what radiates out.
Therefore, science knows that by cutting something out of your diet will allow your body to thrive again.
Cancer’s Fuel – Sugar
Since the 1920s, Dr Otto Warburg along with other health authorities have been discussing how cancer ‘loves’ sugar. Surprisingly numerous doctors avoid telling their cancer patients that if they continue eating processed foods, they will likely have a difficult time fighting this disease.
Dr Otto Warburg who is a physiologist, leading biochemist, medical doctor, and Nobel laureate was adamant that you could starve cancer right out of the body. While this is easier said than done, this is something that could significantly improve the treatment.
He argued that malignant cells and tumour growth were affected by cells that generated energy via adenosine triphosphate (ATP) through a nonoxidative breakdown of glucose (sugar).
The recycling of the metabolite from this action called glycolysis and the flow of adhA back into the body produced anaerobic respiration. This process is the reverse of what actually happens with healthy cells.
Healthy, non-cancerous cells produce energy for the body to use through the oxidative breakdown of pyruvate, the end output of glycolysis, which leads to oxidised mitochondria. He, therefore, decided that cancer was indeed a mitochondrial dysfunction.
The regular process of respiration of oxygen in the body switches to fermentation of sugar. Hence, if you remove the sugar, your body should not be able to develop cancer.
The link between sugar and cancer development is indeed not new.
Most people can simply remove the apparent foods that are full of refined sugar – cakes, candies, cookies, etc. The problem lies in that many foods which are packaged and sold in the US, and other countries are full of refined sugar but disguised in the packaging labels.
Foods like ‘healthy’ yogurt, cereals, whole wheat or whole grain bread, and even ‘low-calorie’ items can be ‘packed’ of sugar.
The simplest way to reduce unwanted refined sugars is to stop buying ‘convenience’ or pre-packaged foods, and at least temporarily, avoid eating out, and start cooking at home – many restaurants source their food from big companies that ‘season’ their food with lots of sugar and salt to make it tastier after being frozen and shipped across the country.
Even something as simple as salad dressings can be packed full with sugar. Fight your sugary cravings by eating more plant-based and healthy animal-based proteins and eat more nutrition-packed foods.
