The animal lover was born deaf has adopted a sweet puppy who is also unable to hear. 31 years old Nick Abbott adopted his six weeks old puppy Emerson through a foster-based rescue after hearing that the black lab experienced regular seizures and an infection known as canine parvovirus.
“Once we got him home from the vet’s office from Florida, we realized he had hearing difficulties,” Lindsay Powers of NFR Maine told “GMA. “He doesn’t let it bother him at all, though he’s a typical puppy.”
Lindsay continued, “He had such a rough start to life, and he ended up with an absolute fairy tale ending.”
It is not known if the adorable Labrador was born deaf or if you lost his hearing later on in his life.
She shared a Facebook post in hopes to find Emerson a forever home, and in a couple of weeks, they received an application from Abbott.
“Right off the bat, he said, ‘I’m deaf also, and I feel like we’d have a good connection,'” Powers remembered, adding that she prepared the application within a day.
Update 3/14: Emerson is still looking for his forever home 🙁 please keep sharing this sweet boy deserves his own…

Abbott’s mom Richelle, said that her son and the pup were “meant for each other.”
“It’s amazing,” she spoke of their connection. “Whenever they’re together, Emerson is always finding a way to lean on Nick.”
She also added that her son Nick is teaching Emerson to sit, come and lay down, all while using a sign language.
“If Nick reaches up and shakes his ear lobe, Emerson will bark — it’s so cute,” she added.
