Baby Owls Nap Facing Downwards Because Their Heads Are Too Heavy

December 23, 2020 By Jake Blumenthal

Did you know that even baby owls can get more adorable than we’re expecting? Have you ever seen or imagined the way they’re sleeping?

Normally, the adults sleep upright while the young ones do not nap in the same way as they have heavy heads.

But somehow, they’re going to sleep until they get old. As a result, most owl babies nap on their belly while rotating their heads to one side.

A branch is the normal position in which they sleep. Due to their hallux, the tiny owls do not fall down in this place. The hallux of the little owls remain until they fold their little legs.

The writer, Mark Rees, was very keen to find out how the owls were sleeping. Therefore, he had a sight of an owl that was napping like a human being. It was on her belly, and the image went viral on the twitter.

You’re going to be able to see even more videos of adorable little owls, napping much like human babies.

It’s so sweet to see them nap on their tummies, face down.

I finally had the chance to fact-check this and I think it’s true?

Which is all kinds of amazing because TIL human toddlers & teenage owls are both champions of the Awkward Nap. https://t.co/uZbcuMDeyL
