The peculiar characteristics and unique flavour of turmeric have been known and practised for centuries. This amazingly healthy dark yellow spice gives a countless number of medicinal properties and is commonly used in Asian medicine.
Turmeric is used as a treatment of wounds and cuts, skin problems, muscle sprains, liver conditions, respiratory problems, and gastric problems, as well as digestive difficulties, inflammations, infections, and malignant tumours.
Turmeric contains active ingredient called curcumin that provides potent antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant qualities. Turmeric is known to fight inflammation in the body, osteoarthritis, gastritis, microbes, gastric and peptic ulcers, enhances the function of the brain and treats Alzheimer’s disease, and helps in the case of many other health problems.
According to Dr Josh Axe, DC, DMN, CNS:
“Turmeric (Curcuma longa), the main spice in the Indian dish curry, is argued by many to be the most potent herb on the planet at fighting and potentially reversing disease.
Turmeric benefits are incredibly vast and very thoroughly researched; currently, there are over 10,000 peer-reviewed articles published proving turmeric benefits. This puts turmeric on top of the list as one of the most frequently mentioned medicinal herbs in all of science.”
The following is a recipe on how to make a do-it-yourself antibiotic with turmeric:
Ingredients:
One tablespoon of turmeric
100 grams of organic honey
Instructions:
Combine the ingredients in a glass jar, and mix well.
To treat the flu, take a tablespoon of this mixture on every hour. Note, avoid swallowing it immediately, just leave it to melt in the mouth. The following day, take the same amount but on every 2 hours, and repeat on the third day, taking it only three times a day.
You can also add this remedy to your tea or milk to enrich its potency.
