How one deals with personal struggle is a part that differentiates us from one another.
And as the saying goes, “there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.”
Meet Simon, the cow, and his best friend, Leonardo.
These unlikely friends were brought together during their very tumultuous set of events, and they have been inseparable since.
During one ‘adventurous’ day in 2016, Simon, who was just a little cow at that time, caught his leg in some vines so badly that he had to have his leg amputated to save his life.
Fortunately thought, he was rescued and cared for by the Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand, who fitted him with a prosthetic leg and took him into their animal sanctuary.
Simon had lost his leg, but he was about to meet his new best friend.
During his revocery, Simon wasn’t allowerd to join the other cows, but rather he was placed alone for a few weeks until he gained strength to join the pack. Except, he wasn’t entirely alone…
Three years earlier, a zoo where Leonardo had stayed has closed, and he was rescued and brought to WFFT animal sanctuary where he was given a new chance of life.
One day, while Leonardo minded his own business, he noticed the new resident with a prosthetic leg, and it was love at first sifht. The calf immediately developed a strong bond to the giant tortoise, to the bemusement of the WFFT staff.
Their surprising friendship came as a joy to the staff and the rest of the world, and it’s a good reminder that friendship comes from within and that it is not based on appearance or other superficial characteristics.
Leonard and Simon make an unusual but beautiful pair, and we wish them a happy life together.
