109-Year-Old Woman Says Avoiding Men Is The Secret To A Long Life

January 12, 2019 By Mike Thurstone

Do you ever wonder what makes life beautiful and what impacts the longevity of a person, then look no further, this story is for you! A lot of people talk about different secrets for a long life, but there is one though you might have never thought about.

This story takes us back in 2015, when Holiday Retirement carried a massive across-America study, examining seniors over 100 and their reason for their longevity. After their survey they enlisted detailed array of tips on how to live longer.

While some argued that it was all about family, others were convinced that living life to the fullest was the key. However, one of the most unexpected answers came from beautiful Jessie Gallan a 109-year-old.

She was born and raised in Kintore, Scotland, in 1906 on a family farm. She lived with her mother and father and her six siblings. Her life was ordinary, sleeping in a cottage and living life to the fullest.

In her early years, Mrs Gallen went to school for a short bit but then proceeded with finding a job in a farm kitchen. After a couple of years she decided to change work and continued working as a housemaid in the city. She was working for a wealthy family, after which she moved onto working in the service trade.

Mrs Gallan finally moved into the Crosby House, a place that accommodates ill or alone elders. “Jessie is a lovely woman. She has got her best friend here, Sarah Jane, and they are always together. She likes her music and likes her exercise class and is a very independent person. She is always walking about.” and employee of Crosby House said

Mrs Gallan passed away in March 2015, but she managed to document the secret for her longevity before her death.

“My secret to a long life has been staying away from men,” Mrs Gallan noted. “They’re just more trouble than they’re worth.”

Jessie also shared the secret to her vitality and said: “I like my porridge. I have all my life.”

Mrs Gallas indeed shared an intriguing theory to debate. Given the fact that more and more women fall hopelessly for the lack of good men, maybe the wise thing to do is to let go of the idea of men, and let your prince find you. No one can validate Gallan’s theory, but it is an interesting suggestion to consider.
