Himalayan salt can be found in the mountainous region of China, Nepal, Myanmar, and India. The area is covered in crystallised sea salt fields, underneath a layer of lava which essentially protects the salt from external influences and pollution.

Himalayan salt is packed full of essential minerals, like iodine, which affects our energy levels. Also, Himalayan salt is:

Low in sodium content.

Himalayan salt contains over 80 other essential composites and minerals, like magnesium, borate, bromide, sulphate, calcium, and fluoride.

Himalayan salt balances the electrolyte levels in our body.

Himalayan salt has the ability to hydrate the body, inside and out.

It maintains a healthy pH balance and assisting with alkalizing the organism.

It can prevent muscle cramps and spasms.

Himalayan salt boosts our metabolism.

Strengthens the bones.

Enhances intestinal absorption of nutrients.

Boosts circulation in our body.

Destroys sediment and flushes free radicals from the body.

In some cases, Himalayan salt boosts the libido and stamina in men.

The Difference between Pink Salt, Sea Salt and Regular Salt:

Technically, Himalayan or pink salt is a form of sea salt. So whats the difference between the regular white salt we use at home? While sea salt originates from a large saltwater deposits, regular salt has no nutritional value. During its commercial production process, white salt loses all of its nutrients and minerals, except for sodium and chloride.

Regular salt is bleached, heated and chemically treated, which essentially increases its solubility point, leaving us feeling constantly dehydrated.

Detox Pink Salt Bath Soak

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups Epsom salt
1/2 cup Himalayan pink salt
10 drops essential oil depending on your goal – (lemongrass for sore muscles, lavender for relaxation, eucalyptus for sinus relief, or bergamot for focus)

Instructions

Mix ingredients and add to a warm bath.
Soak for around 20-40 minutes.
