This young 11-year-old boy started to teach himself crocheting since he was 5.
During the years, he has become an absolute ‘crocheting prodigy,’ learning patterns even seasoned grandmothers struggle with.
His Facebook page boasts over 200k fans that get inspired daily by this young man. He is well known for his speed turning out hats, blankets, scarves, mittens, doilies, and stuffed animals at a mindblowing rate.
Once finished, most of his creations and profits end up to the Ethiopian orphanage he was adopted from and other communities in need.
In an interview with The LaCrosse Tribune, Johan said,
“I’m a very busy thinker, and I’m always thinking of ways to do things differently. Crocheting, to me, is quiet time because it relaxes my mind. And everybody should have something to relax their mind.”
His latest charity campaign managed to raise over $20,000 for necessary school supplies for the children in the area, and construction of a community library.
“I want to hand children in Ethiopia the chance to unlock their own passion and potential,” he tells about his fundraiser, which strives to support women and children improve their talents and help them start their own small businesses.
Indeed an inspiration to many young people! Well done young man!
