Aspen Dental is opening a close to 500 offices to provide free dental care for veterans. The day of service campaign will be on June 8th. Aspen Dental encourages all veterans to reach out to nearby offices for consideration.
“Most veterans are not eligible for dental care through the veterans administration. Some estimate suggests that more than one in three American adults did not have a dental check last year. And some of the most common barriers to care are cost, fear, and lack of insurance.
And when you think about the population that is so special within this group, that also faces the same roadblocks and challenges, that’s going to be our former military personnel. And so what we know is that for many veterans, unless they are 100 percent disabled, have sustained a service-related injury to their mouths, or they were a prisoner of war, they are not eligible for benefits through the veterans administration.
So for our doctor’s at Aspen Dental, that was unacceptable, and we wanted to do something about it”, a representative from Aspen Dental said.
Aspen Dental first started their ‘Health Mount Movement‘ back in 2014, and in the period since, they have donated over $15 Million in dentistry services to over 22,000 US veterans.
As veterans often struggle to find health care, organizations like Aspen Dental fill in gaps. It’s the kind of generous care that can help those in need get a leg up.
