Understanding the pain of others is called empathy, and it is a trait that every human has written in the DNA.
Unsurprisingly, animals too feel empathy, and they empathize with humans, each other and even with other animals.

Does it matter? The empathy shown by one animal for another is more than the humans around showed for the puppy. More humanity in a goose than in the humans who walked by and did nothing. So why ask why but be impressed with the kindness of nature in all its forms.

I don’t know if this is real or not, but there is nothing at all that says the puppy was or wasn’t rescued. Why does the worst in the photographer have to be assumed? He or she may have taken the picture, put the camera away, and rescued the puppy. I believe there is way more good in the world than bad. Let’s try to keep an I out for that, instead of all the bad, that is so easy to find.
