Mix Bananas, Honey and Water To Fight Cough and Bronchitis

February 7, 2019 By Mike Thurstone

During winter months our body is prone to getting sick much easier. Especially, if your daily commute includes train or a bus, you stand at higher risk of contracting someone else’s colds or flu.

People typically correlated a cough with old age, long-term consequences of smoking, or second-hand smoking. However, not always this is the case.

Coughing is a condition through which the body is trying to clean our respiratory system. Usually, it is an early warning sign of something about to happen.

When experience coughing, most of us head out to the closest chemist to grab a syrup or something that will ease the scratch in our throat. However, it seems that there is something else that you can do except throwing your money on medicine that does not always work.

Early research dating back from 2006 has shown that there is no evidence demonstrating that these products do anything to relieve a cough. At best, they can offer the benefits of placebo effects and making billions for the companies that make them.

Some might disagree but knowing that cough syrups are inefficient is the first step to learning how to treat them.

Fortunately, there is a natural remedy that you can try :

Homemade Banana Cough Cream

Ingredients:

Two ripe organic bananas (with black spots).
Two tablespoons of raw organic honey.
400 millilitres of water.

Instructions:

Firstly, boil the water
While waiting, mash the peeled bananas in a large container. For perfect results, use a large wooden spoon.
Next, add the boiling water to the container
Cover it and let it sit for 30 minutes
When almost cold, add the organic honey and mix well

Use:

Take 100 ml of this cough cream four times daily. Warm it up a bit before taking it!

How does it work?

This recipe helps you find relief as the body cures itself of whatever caused a cough.

Bananas promote better sleep as they boost serotonin levels making it a perfect remedy for night coughs.
