Flamethrower Tractors Help Farmers Destroy Pests and Weeds

July 6, 2019 By Mike Thurstone

This very practical and useful way of removing insects and weeds by using tractors that have flame-throwing equipment has quickly become popular among farmers.

This method is called “flame weeding,” and it is a much healthier and efficient way of eliminating insects and weeds than any other method currently available, and also uses no chemicals and pesticides that are harmful to our health.

The company Flame Engineering, which specialized in the production of these highly complex machines, clearly described the way of operation and use of its machines on its website, where the instructional videos clearly show how precisely the machines should be handled in order to avoid disaster.

The company also explains in writing: “Flame weeding is what we want to call a slow kill.” Essentially, you are destroying cell structure in the plant leaf,” according to Flame Engineering: “The weed will no longer put energy towards growth (photosynthesis) taking the kill through the root system.”

This method quickly gained great popularity thanks to the video above, and this way of working and eliminating pests and weeds that allows removal of pesticides from use, especially quickly spread to social networks.

For the efficiency of the method using tractors fitted with flame throwers, the company in the video explains: “YES, flame weeding will kill the roots too! Even on big weeds (over 6″), you will see a stunning effect and even a kill within a few days depends on how the root system is established and how long the plant was exposed to heat. ”

Exactly, and individual farmers don't have to own it, cooperatives can own one and rent it out, this will help reduce cost

One influential Twitter user noticed: “Individual farmers do not have to own it, cooperatives can own one and rent it out, this will help reduce costs.”

But, of course, as in any other activity, even in this, some who have a critical approach to the method appeared, putting the question about its effectiveness. Among those critics were some experts in the field of agriculture.

I don't really get how this will deal with amyworm though. Will it be used before or after the infestation? We all know that amyworm starts affecting the crops like 2weeks+ after planting. Won't this technique burn off the crop from the entire farm?

Aina Tolulope, a highly respected agricultural adviser, claims: “I do not really know how this will deal with [armyworms] though,” “Will it be used before or after the infestation? We all know that [armyworm] starts affecting the crops like two weeks + after planting. Will this technique burn off the crop from the whole farm? ”

We hope that such videos will encourage in the future this method of elimination of weeds and pests to be considered a standard method with widely used as well as other already known methods.
